How a value is taken
- Letters are case-insensitive. Digits count only in AQ.
- Based Atlantean assigns −1 to A–J; totals can be small or negative.
- Spaces, punctuation, and the pilcrow (¶) are ignored.
- The 1611 spelling is the text of record — v/u and i/j follow the 1611 compositors.
- A verse total is the sum of every counted character in that verse.
